Having explored a wide range of media, my artistic journey has evolved from realism to abstraction. Driven by an adventurous spirit, my greatest inspiration comes from traveling. Symbolism often plays a key role in my paintings, which originate from my journeys and personal experiences. My work embodies expressionism, characterized by vibrant, intense colors, rich textures, and layered compositions. Each piece is an evolving journey, keeping me curious about its final form and inviting viewers to interpret it through their own perspective.
I hold a degree in Art from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s in Education from the University of West Florida. Over the course of 28 years, I taught elementary art in Pensacola, followed by a decade teaching art education courses at the University of West Florida. My work has earned numerous awards, including multiple Best of Show recognitions for Art Educators at the Pensacola Museum of Art, as well as Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards at Artel Gallery in Pensacola, Florida. In August 2016, I was honored as the Elementary Art Educator of the Year for the State of Florida.
