About the Artist

Having worked in a variety of media, my work has evolved from realistic to abstract.  With an adventurous spirit, traveling is what inspires me the most. I often incorporate symbolism in my paintings which form their beginnings from travels and experiences.  My paintings reveal expressionism, building many layers using vibrant and intense colors with lots of texture.  Each painting is a journey that constantly changes and keeps me guessing about the final outcome, leaving the viewer to interpret through their own eyes.

With a degree in art from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s in Education from the University of West Florida, I currently teach elementary art in Pensacola. For ten years, I have taught the art education classes at the University of West Florida.
Numerous awards have been presented including Best of Show for Art Educators at the Pensacola Museum of Art several times and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards at Artel Gallery in Pensacola, Florida.
Also awarded Florida Art Educator's Painting Award.

August 2016 was awarded Elementary Art Educator of the Year for the State of Florida.
